Accommodate

As of June 25, 2025, students, instructors and staff at the 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø have a new tool to manage academic accommodations, making the process more streamlined. The application Accommodate was chosen to replace ClockWork following consultations with students, instructors, staff and individuals with lived experience.

What is Accommodate?

Accommodate is an application created by the vendor Symplicity for managing student academic accommodations.

Why are we making this change?

Positive encounters in the accommodations process can have a lasting, positive impact on a student’s academic success and personal well-being. Feedback gathered from students, instructors, and staff through the Accessibility Enhancement project highlighted the need to improve the academic accommodation process by reducing barriers and enhancing accessibility.

How will this affect me?

The process of managing academic accommodations will remain similar, but tasks will be streamlined for efficiency. Some features of the enhanced user experience include a summary view of students' accommodations, a modern interface and an accessibility mode to support diverse users.

What do I need to do?

Instructor and student profiles will be created automatically in Accommodate, so no setup is necessary.

Where can I find resources and support?

Learn more by consulting the guides for students and instructors or watching the virtual showcases. If you have any questions, please contact the Accessibility Enhancement project team at ae.project@ualberta.ca.
