CIUS Director Natalia Khanenko-Friesen accepted an invitation from the Embassy of Ukraine to join the official delegation of Canadian supporters of Ukraine meeting President Volodymyr Zelensky as part of the Ukrainian President's G7 visit to Canada.

Ukraine values CIUS's longstanding contribution to the scholarly field of Ukrainian studies and for its leading role in the growth of the , launched a year ago in Washington, DC. In a brief conversation, Director Khanenko-Friesen and President Zelensky touched on the importance of this initiative.
